Counter strike 1.6
1.6cs.jpg
Pic of one of the new maps

For all you counter strike fans out there that havent played 1.6 yet get ready for a whole new experience.

The first step is to download steam, it takes a while to download but its well worth it. Steam take a while to download it took me around 45 min on a 512k connection but anyone who downloaded the original CS know that that is nothing when compared to the experience you get from the game itself.

Steam itself can be a little slow and still has a few bugs but it is the launching platform for one of the greatest game ever to grace this good earth.

Once you have downloaded steam while launching into the game for the first time dont give up there are still some files that you will have to download from the server to play the game. This may cause you to drop out but just reconnect and it should work itself out in time.

Once in the game you will notice the CTs have new weapons. First of all the Famas is an automatic rifle that looks like and shoots like something you might find to build on the net.

And secondly the Riot shield which is the same you will see police using in riots all around the world. This takes a lot of skill to use because all you have is a pistol but if it is in the hands of an experienced player then watch out because they can be deadly.

The Ts get a Galil. Its a cheap imitation AK47 knock off but all round it beats the CT Famas hands down. And is an acceptable weapon if you dont have the money to buy something better.

The maps are better brighter and more textured. The big changes are in Inferno and Aztec these maps have been fully redecorated and parts of the map have been edited to make these maps better and more fun to play.

There is also a new map called Airstrip which in my view isnt too bad it is a bomb map but in the few times I have played it I have found it enjoyable. But I think some people dont share this point of view. But I guess the only way youre going to know is to find out for yourself and download steam. And trust me you wont regret it.
